Alu 2011: Cutting alloy. Allows machining at high speed. Good chip fragmentation due to the presence of lead. High stress tolerance (330 MPa)
Alu 2017: The most common French mechanical alloy in general mechanics. High stress tolerance (390 MPa). Good chip formation when machining.
Alu 2030: Cutting alloy for high stress (390 MPa). Very good chip fragmentation. High lead level which limits its use in light of European directives on the environment. Not for electronic use (RoHS) or automotive use (ELV Directive).
Alu 5754: Very low stress tolerance (220 MPa). Very good weldability, high corrosion resistance. Great swaging and bending with H111 temper.
Alu 6060: Aluminium often available in tube form. Medium mechanical strength (130 MPa). Easy forming. Good resistance to corrosion. Can acquire a high polish.
Alu 6064: Aluminium developed to replace Alu 6262 which was not RoHS directive compliant. Lead is limited. It is an aluminium resistant to corrosion with good mechanical characteristics (360 MPa). Anodising is very good.
Alu 6082: German mechanical alloy. Good mechanical resistance (330 Mpa). Suitable for welding and anodising.
Alu 7075: Developed for aeronautics, this alloy has found new opportunities thanks to very advanced characteristics (560 MPa). Widely used also in leisure sports, where weight saving is wanted, without harming strength (bike, motorsport, mountaineering…)
Aluminium surface treatments
In addition, we perform different types of surface treatment on our aluminium parts:
Common decorative aluminium anodising: clear (matt, satin, gloss), black, red, yellow, green, blue, champagne.
Natural hard anodising: Variable grey in the aluminium family 2000, 5000, 6000. Yellow champagne on Alu 7075. Possibility of black. Hardness up to 700 Vickers on the surface depending on the aluminium.
